The Ratio on Twitter is Not Good for Some R Politicians Railing Against The Verdict. Tea Leaves.

I’ve done some perusing and tabulating on Twitter feeds of various Republicans in Congress who have Tweeted support of Trump and the various claims of “Fraud”,”Sham”,”Unfair” blah, blah, blah.

Twitter (I still call it that by habit but I know it’s X now)  shows me a lot of Republican accounts and today I started looking into the replies to some deeply redSenators and Representatives and found that the ratios looked very bad in their Tweets supporting Trump.

North Carolina, North Dakota, Arkansas, Mississipi and more.  These aren’t people who normally get ratio’ed like this.  (I did include Ted Cruz and admittedly sometimes he gets pretty badly Ratio’ed)

If you are unfamiliar with the term “Ratio’ed” it means when the ratio of supportive replies to non-supportive is against you.   It’s not a good thing.  Well, every one of these tweets seemed to be getting deeply ratio’ed.  Really deeply ratio’ed.

In other words, Tweets of many Republican leaders supporting Trump against the verdict got hammered with “It’s a jury trial”, “It was fair”, “It’s law and order”.

I also double checked other tweets in these accounts.  Of course when any account tweets basically anything they will get supporters and antagonists, but across the board on these accounts the ratios never look like this.

So I went ahead and did a role call of the first 100 tweets in reply and I will give you the results Ratio is in the form of #replies opposing poster (and Trump) : # supporting Trump

I’m posting the Tweets of 6 Senators below.   I scanned many more and it was almost universal.   There are some exceptions.   The biggest flame throwers (Jordan, MTG, Bobert) had much more balanced results (roughly equal pro/con at first glance)  but I think that this is because in general their Tweets are typically more watched and in general get a roughly 50:50 ratio because they are constantly under scrutiny for saying something loud, obnoxious, etc and are more scrutinzed for better or worse.

I am also at the bottom pasting a few screenshots of what their feeds look like — I felt like if I posted the reply screenshots in that the pages would go forever.  Feel free to click the Tweets and scan the replies to get a better understanding for yourself.   I can say I’ve never seen anything like this.

So what does this mean?

As the diary title says, this is absolute “tea leaves” but it also is very consistent and feels like a great indicator but  it’s obviously a very small sample of the total number of actual Republican Congress people and the methodology is completely unscientific.   While I am a computer programmer, I don’t know how to write an algorithm to scrape and count all of them but it seems like a serious pattern and at that it is definitely not favorable for Republicans pushing this idea of the trial being unfair.

Tweets, ratios counted by me and screenshots below:

Thom Tillis Tweet ratio: 93 anti-Trump : 7 Pro-Trump.     Tillis is From North Carolina

I am shocked by the verdict considering that this case should have never been brought forward. From the beginning, it was clear that a radical, politically-motivated state prosecutor was using the full weight of his office to go after President Trump at the same time he turned a…

Senator Boozman from Arkansas Ratio 80 Anti-Trump :20 Pro-Trump

The trial and verdict against Pres. Trump are deeply concerning given the many questions that have been raised about its fairness from the outset, undermining Americans’ confidence in the justice system at a time when we can least afford it.

Senator John Hoeven from North Dakota Ratio 79 Anti-Trump : 17 Pro-Trump

Clearly, the Manhattan DA is politically motivated and both this case and the verdict undermine Americans’ confidence in our judicial system.

Cindy Hyde-Smith from Mississipi (only 70 replied) Ratio 60 Anti-Trump : 10 Pro Trump

Here are a few Screenshots of repy feeds — I’m not sure how legible they are but the overwhelming message is “It was a jury and you are on the wrong side of this” — Which is what we really want people to be finally realizing, right?:
